Privacy policy

The Survey Drafting Bureau ("we", "us") is run by David Armstrong, Registered Land Surveyor (NSW) No. 8909, ABN 48 354 672 840. This page explains what we collect when you use surveydb.com.au, why, and how we look after it.

What we collect

• Your contact details: name, email, and optionally your firm and phone number, so we can return your files and contact you about your job.
• The files you upload: plan PDFs, master files, title searches, field notes and other job material. These may contain owners' names, addresses, surveyor details and land descriptions.
• Your agreement: when you send a job we record that you accepted the responsibility statement, the time, and the internet address it came from, as a record of the agreement.
• Basic website data: our hosting provider records standard technical information such as internet addresses to keep the site secure. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

Only to:

• draft or convert your plan and return the result to you;
• contact you about your job, including anything the validation flags;
• send invoices and keep business records.

We do not sell, rent or share your information for marketing.

Confidentiality of plans

We treat every uploaded plan and job file as confidential until the plan is registered, whether or not it contains personal information. Files are used only to complete your job.

Some processing is assisted by artificial intelligence services operating under commercial terms that do not allow your content to be used to train their models.

Converted LandXML files are checked through the NSW LRS validation service, which means the file is uploaded to NSW Land Registry Services for that check.

Where your files are stored

Files are stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider. Cloudflare stores data in the Asia-Pacific region, but we cannot guarantee files stay within Australia. If you need Australian-only storage, contact us before uploading.

How long we keep it

• Uploaded files and the files we produce: deleted 30 days after your job is complete.
• Your contact details, job records and agreement: kept as long as needed for business, tax and legal purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete your files early. Email david@surveydb.com.au.

Responsibility for plans

We draft or convert from the material you provide. The certifying surveyor remains responsible for checking the files, and for the plan and its lodgement.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
